Good samaritans show up when you least expect them. And, the internet has no dearth of such content. A recent addition to the long list is a 16-year-old intern who saved an old man from choking. He performed the Heimlich maneuver, a first aid technique where the abdominal thrusts are used to unblock the upper airway obstructions by foreign objects. The incident, shared on Instagram by the Good News Movement page, was captured on the security camera. Soon after the video went viral on social media, users are urging to give the kid a “paid job already.”
In the clip, you can see the elderly man in distress as he struggles to breathe. The intern behind the counter quickly rushes to his table and begins to pat his back. When it doesn't prove effective, the boy performs the Heimlich maneuver to save the old man, who is choking on food. The text accompanying the video read, "Security camera captures the moment an elderly man begins choking on his food while eating in a restaurant. The man was saved by a 16-year-old culinary student who was doing his internship in the shop. The student quickly went over to the customer and first slapped him on the back. Realising that the intervention was insufficient, he applied the Heimlich maneuver, which he had recently learned from social media."
