Orange Peel, Turmeric and Honey
Dr.Deepali Bhardwaj suggests you use this three-ingredient mask for stubborn, leather-like tan.
Ingredients: 1 Tbsp orange peel powder, one pinch turmeric and 1 Tbsp natural honey.
Method: Mix everything into a fine paste. Apply on the face and neck and wash it off after 3 to 10 minutes with a face cleanser or rose water.
Not recommended for those with acne-prone skin.

Besan (gramflour), Haldi (Turmeric) and Yogurt
This one comes recommended by many beauty experts and all Punjabi grandmothers! Besan can be found in almost every household and is actually an effective and inexpensive ingredient for your beauty kit. It absorbs excess oil from the skin, fights acne and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized.
Ingredients: 2 Tbsp besan, ½ tsp turmeric, 2 Tbsp yogurt
Method: Mix all the ingredients till it's a fine paste. Scrub your face for a few minutes with this paste and then leave it to dry (for about 5-10 minutes). Wash with cold or lukewarm water and moisturize.
You can also use besan, milk and lemon.

Sandalwood Powder and Rose Water
Sandalwood powder doesn't just work your tan; it also helps clear acne, acne scars, blemishes and wrinkles. It's especially recommended for those with greasy skin because sandalwood powder absorbs the extra oil and soothes the skin.
Ingredients: 2 Tbsp sandalwood powder, 2 Tbsp rose water
Method: Mix the two ingredients and keep the paste on till it's completely dry.
If you've got dry skin then add a teaspoon of honey to the paste.

Cucumber and Tomatoes
This one's going to be messy but we promise, if you've got the time and patience, then it's the most effective of all home remedies.
Ingredients: Cucumber and tomato pulp
Method: Mash both the cucumber and tomatoes together and apply it on your face and neck. Leave it on for about 30 minutes. The pack will be a bit runny so make sure you wait for it to dry.

Papaya and Honey
Again, papaya's one of those ingredients that are really nourishing for the skin and it same time, very therapeutic.
Ingredients: 1/4th papaya (small-sized) and 2 Tbsp honey
Method: Mash the papaya really fine, mix it with honey and leave it on your face for 20-30 minutes.
You can follow this up with a Multani Mitti face pack for best results.

Milk, Saffron and Honey
We know that saffron's one of the most expensive ingredients in the world and it's probably because of its rare and exceptional nutritional profile. It doesn't just protect you from cancer, improve memory retention, increase vitality and fight the common cold. It also works as a great ingredient for glowing skin.
Ingredients: 2 Tbsp warm milk, 2 drops lemon juice, 1 teaspoon honey and a few strands of saffron
Method: Wipe your face clean and then apply this mix. Gently rub this mix over your face and massage for a few minutes. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes and wash it off.
