The most popular street food dish that finds its origins in the by lanes of Old delhi and now has a good fan following elsewhere in the country as well. This aloo ki chaat recipe has fried crisp potatoes topped with chatpata masalas and chutneys, chopped onions, fresh coriander and lemon juice put together for a tangy dose of ride.

Ingredients of Aloo Ki Chaat

  • For Coriander Chutney:
  • 1 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Black Salt
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • For Chaat:
  • 2-3 Aloo (Boiled)
  • A pinch of Black Salt
  • A pinch of Black Pepper
  • A pinch of Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Tamarind Chutney

How to Make Aloo Ki Chaat

  • To Prepare Coriander Chutney:
  • 1.Take coriander leaves in a grinder.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 2.Add green chillis and black salt.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 3.Grind all the ingredients together.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 4.Add lemon juice to the freshly grinded ingredients for that tangy taste.
  • 5.Mix thoroughly.
  • To prepare Chaat:
  • 1.Take boiled potatoes in a pan of hot oil.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 2.Deep fry the potatoes till golden brown.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 3.Soak oil and put the potatoes in a bowl.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 4.Add black salt, black pepper, cumin powder, chaat masala and chilli powder.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 5.Sprinkle some chopped onions on top of it along with juice of half a lemon.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 6.Pour tamarind chutney and freshly made coriander chutney.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 7.Mix all of it thoroughly to soak all of the potatoes in the spicy and tangy flavour of the spices.Aloo Ki Chaat
  • 8.Serve in the plastic bowl with toothpicks, garnished with chopped onions.Aloo Ki Chaat
