There is something delicious about eating a piece of juicy chicken that is full of smokey flavours. This biryani recipe involves a delectable combination of fiery BBQ chicken pieces along with flavourful rice and some aromatic spices.

Ingredients of BBQ Chicken Biryani

  • For Marination
  • 4 tsp Garam Masala
  • A pinch of Yellow food color
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp Yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 500 gram Chicken biryani cut
  • For Biryani Masala
  • 1/2 cup Cooking oil
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 3 Green cardamom
  • 1 medium Onion (sliced)
  • 4 Green chilies
  • 1 medium Tomatoes (sliced)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Fresh coriander
  • 1/2 cup Mint leaves
  • 500 gram Rice
  • 1/2 cup Pyaz (Onion) fried
  • 1/4 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp Yellow food color
  • 1/2 kg Soaked and boiled

How to Make BBQ Chicken Biryani

Create a marinade using the ingredients mentioned above. Add chicken to the marinade and mix well. Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated chicken. Once it is cooked, place hot coal in the middle and cover the chicken. The coal will smoke in the flavour barbecue flavour in the cooked chicken. Once done, set it aside.

Take a biryani cooking dish, Add oil, onion, bay leaves and cardamom. Saute for 2 minutes.

Add chillies, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chilli powder and garam masala.

Cook for a while. Then add yoghurt. Mix well. Add the cooked chicken and mix well. Finally, add coriander and mint leaves.

Mix in yellow food colour to yoghurt, pour in the biryani masala. Mix the masala well. .

Place cooked rice on top of the biryani masala. Garnish the rice with onions. Cover the dish and let it steam for 30 minutes.
8.
Serve with mirchi ka salan, mint chutney, onion rings and your one-pot meal is ready to relish!
