Ingredients of Chettinad Paniyaram

  • 1 Cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal
  • 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 6-7 curry leaves
  • to taste salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillis, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves, finely chopped

How to Make Chettinad Paniyaram

Take the prepared fermented batter of urad dal and rice and keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan on the gas, first add mustard seeds, urad dal, green chillies, onions, whole red chillies, grated coconut, curry leaves and green coriander and fry for a few seconds.

Add salt as per taste and turn off the gas. Add this mixture to the batter and mix it well.

Now heat a paniyaram pan on the gas, grease it with oil, now pour the prepared spicy batter into the paniyaram mold and let it cook by closing the lid.

After some time turn them over and cook from the other side as well.

6 Soft and crispy Chettinad Kara Paniyaram is ready. You can pair them with chutney, sambhar or pachadi.
