How to make Egg Paniyaram

Traditionally made from black gram and rice, this paniyaram recipe is made using egg. Egg paniyaram is super healthy and is ideal for a quick breakfast meal. They taste best when paired with South Indian-style chutney.

Ingredients of Egg Paniyaram

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Idli Batter
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Black Pepper Powder (to taste)
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Small Onion (chopped)
  • to taste Salt

How to Make Egg Paniyaram

First of all, break 2-3 eggs in a mixing bowl, and whisk well. Next, add the whisked eggs to the idli batter and mix again.
Once mixed properly, heat some oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds, and wait until they splutter. Once done, add chopped onion, and green chillies. Sauté for a minute or two.
Pour the egg batter in the same pan and add the seasonings like black pepper powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt to taste.
After it, heat oil in a Paniyaram pan, pour the egg batter, cover the pan, and let the paniyaram cook.
When the paniyaram appears to be golden from the top, flip them to cook from the other side. Make sure to cook from both sides.
Take out the paniyarams from the pan, serve and enjoy!.
