Ingredients of Chicken Madras

  • 500 Gram Chicken breast (Cut into pieces)
  • 2 Large Onions (Chopped)
  • 4-5 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Large Tomatoes (Chopped)
  • 1 inch Ginger (Peeled)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder

How to Make Chicken Madras

Grind onion, garlic, red chilli and ginger, garlic together until a coarse paste.

Now heat vegetable oil in a pan, add the paste and fry for 4-5 minutes. If it starts to stick in the pan, add water.

Now add turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Cook for about 4-5 minutes.

Add chicken chunks. Mix everything well and make sure the chicken pieces are well coated with the mixture.

Cook until the chicken begins to change the colour, add a small splash of water if it sticks to the base of the pan.
6.
Add chopped tomatoes along with salt to taste, cover and cook for 25-30 mins.
7.
Add coriander leaves and serve with rice, roti, naan or any bread of your choice.
