Ingredients of Homemade Coleslaw

  • 1 small head of cabbage (green or a mix of green and purple)
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Slice the cabbage in half and remove the core. Using a sharp knife or slicer, shred the cabbage into thin, uniform strips.

Grate the carrots and add them to the shredded cabbage.

In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, mustard sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Whisk the ingredients together. Taste and adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Gently toss the ingredients until they are evenly coated with the creamy dressing.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes.
