Fire up your meal with this fragrant meat curry. Slowly smoked to perfection and served with a hot kachumber.

Ingredients of Smokey Meat Curry

  • 4 ground onions
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 1 Tbsp garlic
  • 250 gm tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 kg meat, cut into cubes
  • 4 chopped green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 350 ml yoghurt
  • 4 Tbsp oil
  • 1 cucumber, peeled and diced
  • 1 raw mango, peeled and diced
  • 2 diced tomatoes
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 Tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • A pinch of sugar and chilli powder
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

How to Make Smokey Meat Curry

  • 1.Put all the ingredients in a hot pan.
  • 2.Stir and set aside.
  • 3.Place hot coals in a bowl on the curry.
  • 4.Pour hot oil over the coals and seal the pan.
  • 5.Cook slowly for 1 1/4 hour.
  • 6.Serve hot with kachumber.
  • For the kachumber:
  • 1.Combine all the ingredients and serve with the meat curry.
