About South Indian-Style Aloo Rasedar Recipe: A wholesome and delicious aloo sabzi with flavourful spices to pair with crispy puris!

Ingredients of South Indian-Style Aloo Rasedar

  • 4 potato, boiled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 garlic pods, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies (slit)
  • 2 Whole red chillies
  • 2-3 sprigs curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • Lemon juice (as per taste)
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • To taste salt and sugar
  • 1 Tbsp oil (preferably refined oil or coconut oil)

How to Make South Indian-Style Aloo Rasedar

  • 1.Heat oil in a pan and add sauté red chilli, mustard seeds and jeera to it and sauté till the seeds crackle.
  • 2.Add garlic, onion and green chilli and fry till the onion turns translucent in colour.
  • 3.Add tomatoes, turmeric power and salt and cook till the tomatoes turn soft.
  • 4.Add the potatoes and mix.
  • 5.Pour 1 cup water, sugar as per taste and close the lid. Let it cook for few minutes.
  • 6.Now, open the lid, adjust the salt and sugar and mash some aloo pieces to get a thicker (not dry) consistency.
  • 7.On low flame, add lemon juice and mix. Switch off the flame and serve hot with crispy puris.
