1.
Wash chana and urad dal 3-4 times and soak it for 2-3 hours. For best results, soak the dal for overnight.
2.
Take poha and it thoroughly with water. Soak the poha in water for 10 minutes before grinding it in the blender.
3.
Once done, add both the dals and poha in a mixer grinder and blend to form a coarse mixture.
4.
Add water, curd and salt as per your taste levels. Blend again to combine the ingredients in the batter. Once done, set it aside to ferment for 3 hours.
5.
After it has fermented, add ginger chilli paste, turmeric powder, hing, fruit salt and a little bit of oil to the batter. Whisk well for 2 minutes.
6.
Now grease a tin with some and pour the batter into the container. Let it steam for 12-15 minutes. Use a fork to check if the batter is baked by poking it in the middle. If the fork comes out clean, let the tin cool down.
7.
Once steamed, take out the Locho on a plate. Cut it into small squares or scrap it off from the tin. Top it with sev and chopped onion, and it’s ready!
