Ingredients of Vrat-Special Makhana Khichdi

  • 2 Cups Makhana, soaked
  • 1 cup Boiled potatoes
  • Sendha namak (rock salt) to taste
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • A handful of peanuts
  • 1-2 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Mango powder
  • Ghee for cooking

How to Make Vrat-Special Makhana Khichdi

Soak makhanas in water for at least 15 minutes. Boil the potatoes and cut them into small cubes.

Heat ghee in a pan. Roast cumin seeds. When they start to crackle, add green chillies and peanuts, and roast them.

Add potatoes and roast them. Add makhanas, salt, red chilli powder and mango powder.
4.
Mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes. Serve hot.
