I could not miss this opportunity and dashed to the Cafe Delhi Heights outlet in Saket. I received a very warm welcome from the staff - it already felt good to be there. And then the marathon of one wonderful dish after another began. The International Street Food Festival menu offered a range of enticing dishes from all around the world. I first chose Poutine from Canada. It was a big plate of French fries topped with loads of cheese curds and creamy sauce. It was heavenly. I just could not stop munching on the delicious fries.
Then came Ramen from Japan. The bowl was filled with noodle soup flanked by seaweed and greens including bok choy and spinach. The ramen was authentic and refreshing. The Empanadas from Latin America were a delight. The crispy pastry stuffed with cheese and vegetables was a flavour bomb. What I really loved was the taste and texture of the pastry - it was soft and fresh.
Shawarma (Middle East) was a good not great, but a satiating meal. I also tried palak patta chaat and all tikki chaat from the regular, and it was mind-blowing. I had never loved Palak Patta Chaat so much. So, for Indian chaats, Cafe Delhi Heights is now my go-to spot.
But the best was yet to come... Yes, you guessed it right - the dessert! Churros, the speciality from Span was made perfectly. It had just the right amount of sweetness and crunchiness and the pairing of cream and chocolate dipping sauce contributed to giving the meal a perfect sweet finale.
