Another yoghurt destination, another lineup of delightful flavours, Flavours 24 tempts you to fall victim to the sweet lobby and break all your healthy New Year resolutions.
As the New Year kicks in, it's providence that we start our review section with a yoghurt parlour. Flavours 24 with its interesting combination of yoghurt and toppings, joins this endless list of destinations for non-fattening guilty pleasures in a city that now finds itself in the throes of a yoghurt war.The recent influx of frozen yoghurt places in the city clearly shows the emerging popularity of the dessert. This latest addition to join the bandwagon is a small joint in Lokhandwala market. As the name suggests, there are 24 flavours to choose from. From Bubblegum to Watermelon to Piña Colada -- the list is eclectic.
Flavours 24
Food: Yummy
Service: Excellent
Ambience: Pop The bright white lighting and pink and green hearts on the walls take some time to get used to but then again, this isn't really a restaurant that you need to sit down for.
Flavours 24 have only one kind of frozen yogurt, the original base flavour. Thus, while making a particular flavour, the original flavour is poured into the cup and then natural extracts of the chosen flavour are added to it and then, this mixture in turn, is blended together. Being an ardent chocolate lover the choice was clear. German Chocolate (Rs 66.67) would have to be tried out first. The service is prompt, and lo and behold, the cup is placed before us. With regular and exotic toppings to choose from, we settle for an exotic one a smattering of M&Ms (Rs 28.57) for added effect. It was creamy, tasty and refreshingly not cloyingly sweet. The crunchy M&Ms added the extra zing to the taste.Next, we try the flavour of the day; Blackberry Berry Swirl with Vanilla Crumble lining (Rs 66.67) topped with pomegranate seeds. The yogurt turned out to be delicious. Not sure what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised at the yum factor of the flavour. The light, fruity flavour melted in the mouth without leaving an overbearing taste of yoghurt.Apart from frozen yoghurt, Flavours 24 also serves parfaits and slushes, and there is a bell, which can be pressed if you enjoyed the experience. We made sure we rang it.At: Opposite Oriental Bank of Commerce, Lokhandwala Market, Andheri (W).
