Gurugram is renowned for its lively atmosphere. The food scene in this city is always changing, with a multitude of eateries to suit various preferences. One of the latest additions is the Glasshouse World Grill & Bar. Situated in the bustling Worldmark complex, it provides an excellent setting for patrons to relax with their loved ones. The restaurant's design draws inspiration from a greenhouse, surrounded by abstract glass on all sides. This concept is carried indoors, providing a peaceful, green retreat. Led by the esteemed Michelin chef Atul Kochhar, the menu ensures a delightful culinary experience. Our recent attendance at the opening event was a genuine delight.
The menu takes you on a global journey, and they have a special treat for gin enthusiasts. Their unique Gin Alchemy menu features handcrafted cocktails made from in-house infused gin. We tried 'Africa', a blend of hibiscus, pomegranate, and orange, as well as the signature 'Dragon Fruit Margarita,' a refreshing combination of mint, dragon fruit, and mango. Both were distinct, but the former captured our hearts with its spicy kick from the first sip.
For starters, the Chilli Cheese Pops were the highlight, creatively presented on a bed of greens, resembling a bird's nest. They were perfectly crispy and oozing with cheese inside. We also had the Kathal Kebab, which were wonderfully creamy and full of flavour. The crispy lachha paratha served alongside was the ideal accompaniment. We also gave their special Burmese platter a try, which involved betel leaves and various fillings to be wrapped and eaten like a paan. While we found the concept unique, the taste of the leaves was quite dominant and a bit strong.
Moving on to the main course, we savoured their Angoori Kofta Pepper Makhani, which was a fragrant delight. The tender kofta in the delicate, aromatic gravy was a true culinary pleasure. The presentation was truly impeccable, though we felt the portion size could have been a bit more generous. Next up was the Mediterranean Baked Pie. Its exterior was perfectly crispy, while the interior was delightfully soft. It made for a satisfying dish, and the sweet sauce served alongside added an intriguing blend of flavours.
To conclude on a sweet note, we chose the 'Walk In The Forest' dessert. It provided a decadent chocolate experience, adorned with delicate chocolate shavings, flowers, and crumbled chocolate. Though slightly sweeter than our preference, it's a must-try for those who have a fondness for sugary indulgence.
In conclusion, our experience at Glasshouse was a tapestry of flavours and ambiance, offering a sophisticated yet accessible dining experience. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this culinary gem in the heart of Gurugram.
