Diversified group ITC's instant noodles brand Yippee is inching closer to become a Rs 1,000-crore brand, making the most out of the controversy that hit rival Nestle's Maggi.
Domestic giant ITC Ltd clarified that it has not received any communication from the UP government regarding the presence of excess lead in its instant noodle brand Sunfeast Yippee.
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had held that such statement of having no MSG was "inappropriate".
According FDCA commissioner Mr. H G Koshia, out of 23 samples of Sunfeast Yippee, one sample failed the safety test as it showed higher lead content while some samples showed presence of MSG.
