Nothing can compete with the variety of homemade pickles made by our grandmothers. We all have grown up having this crunchy, tangy delicacy along with our meals. Often packed with nutrients and vitamins, Dadi ka haath ka aachar is mandatory and popular in many Indian households. Are you already nostalgic about your childhood memories with pickles? Then it's the time you relive them with former Masterchef Australia contestant Depinder Chhibber's instant pickle recipe. Yes, in her recent Instagram video, Depinder shared her grandmother's recipe with us. She said it's super easy to make. The jar placed on the table looks lip-smackingly delicious. What do you think?
Depinder used the following ingredients to make the pickle:
1 cup carrots
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup turnips
1/2-3/4 mustard oil
1-1/2 cup white vinegar
2-3 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp turmeric powder
1/3-1/2 cup jaggery powder
Salt to taste
Now, it's time to check on the procedure:
First of all, she has sliced all the vegetables and put them inside a microwave for approx 2-3 min. In the next step, pat them dry to remove all excess moisture. Depinder said, “making this pickle would require mixing all the ingredients together”. She threw chopped cauliflower, carrots and turnips into a bowl and added all the spices. Then, she mixed the spices well to coat each piece of the vegetable. Time to add oil and vinegar into the bowl and mixed them thoroughly. She has suggested that at this stage, give it a taste to adjust the sugar/salt ratio.
Finally, Depinder has transferred the pickle into a washed, dry jar and it's good to go.

A while back, Depinder shared an easy-peasy recipe of Prawn Moilee and we couldn't help but drool. It is a light creamy Malabar-style curry prepared using turmeric and coconut. She also loaded the curry with a bunch of species to tantalize the taste buds.
Even as a Masterchef contestant, Depinder cooked up interesting food items and made us hungry. While being on the show, she once prepared the statement combo - butter chicken and lachha parantha. She served it with pickled onions and mint chutney.
Now, let us go back to the pickle recipe shared by Depinder today. It looks yummy and worth trying. What do you think?
