There are some staple foods we can't imagine our life without - bread is one of them. White bread and brown bread are omnipresent in all kitchens and are consumed by people of all ages. It's ironical that we rely on markets for this survival food that can be easily made at home. That's right; we have been eating bread almost every day of our life, bought from the market only, which contains yeast and other preservatives. So, we tried making a healthy version of bread without yeast at home, and what turned out was a smashing hit in our homes.
We found the recipe video of homemade atta bread on YouTube channel 'Cook With Parul'. The instant bread can be made without yeast, eggs and maida, and no fermentation process is required. Also, you don't even need an oven to make this market-like bread. You can bake it in your regular pressure cooker or kadhai and get healthy, soft, spongy bread in all of 30 minutes.
When you make bread with yeast, you need many hours for it to ferment. With this recipe, you can save all that time and your bread will still rise and taste great.
Knead a light dough with atta (wheat flour), salt, powdered sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Instead of water, knead the dough with curd mixed with water (buttermilk). If you don't have baking powder at home, you can replace it with fruit salt or even lemon juice. You can also use milk instead of curd, as per your taste preference. Decorate with sesame seeds or oats, and bake your bread on stove! You can cover this healthy bread with cling wrap or foil paper and sore in fridge for 5-6 days.
