The season of festivals is upon us. Onam is a ten-day harvest festival that is celebrated with much gaiety in Kerala. Onam usually falls during late August or September. It is celebrated in honour of Kerala's mythical king Mahabali. Onam celebrations mark the homecoming of the king. Onam Sadya is one of the star highlights of the festival. Onam Sadya or Onasadya is an indulgent spread served on a banana leaf. The opulent meal is studded with 26 distinct vegetarian preparations! A traditional Sadya meal comprises various kinds of chutneys, pickles, lentils, curries and gourd preparations. Zambar brings to you a Kerala feast that is sure to stay with you long after you have left. The Sadhya menu at Zambar has 27 vegetarian dishes, from rice with various accompaniments. One can relish dishes like aviyal, eriserry, khichadi beetroot, mambazha puliserry, kootu curry, cabbage thoran, beans mezhukkupuratti, inji puli, thiyal, pineapple pachadi, choru, parippu curry, sambar and rasam along with crunchy nendran and jackfruit chips and various chutneys and pickles to go with the meal. For sweet endings, the south Indian restaurant is serving ada pradhaman and the pal payasam, which is teeming with the goodness of coconut milk and palm jaggery. There, we saw you slurping!

Mahabelly would be serving it twice a day (lunch and dinner), so make sure you do not miss it this time around. The Onam Sadya comprises sharkara perrati, banana chips, mango pickle, banana pickle, inji curry, avial, pineapple kichadi, olan, kaalan, kootu curry, cabbage thoran, beetroot pachadi, parippu, pacha moru, pulissery and more.
