Play Matters
Let's face it, kids are hyperactive and brimming with energy, it is impossible to not let them vent out the energy by running around and playing outdoors. These days even evenings remain hot and dry, prevent your child falling prey to heatstroke. Make them join indoor activities like martial art classes, aerobics, yoga, Zumba or sports that can be played at an indoor stadium. Swimming is an excellent option but ensure that you child is protected from the harmful UVA/B rays.
Dress Right
Choose the right sunscreen and apply at least 20 minutes before your child leaves home. Reapply after every 2 hours. In case you have an infant, it advisable to not expose her/him to the sun. Opt for light, breezy cotton cloths - full sleeved if going outdoors. Invest in caps, hats, gloves and scarves to protect your child from tanning and sun exposure. Avoid fitted clothing or any material that may irritate the skin or make the kid feel hot and uncomfortable.
The Right Diet
The first rule should always be to include lots of fluids in your kid's diet. Opt for curd, lassi, buttermilk, coconut water, juices, nimbu pani. Include ingredients like cucumbers, melons, and fresh fruits and veggies to their diet. Make them eat light throughout the day and the lightest during their last meal. Space their meals out and avoid feeding them spicy, processed or heavy food items that take a toll on their digestion.
Ensure maintaining an ideal temperature at home, too much of in and out of the house may make them fall prey to rapid temperature fluctuation and take a toll on their health. Do not travel for long during the day with your child. Always carry a water bottle with glucose mix or nimbu pani to have your child sip on it ever now and them. Massaging has great benefits for infants, choose a light oil in small quantity and be cautious. Too much of oil may clog the pores and cause baby's skin to irritate.
