The auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri is here. It started on April 2, 2022, and will conclude with Dashami on April 11, 2022. During this time, several devotees observe vrat and indulge in light sattvik food. Considering the importance of the festival in India, Indian Railways is offering special sattvik vrat thali for the passengers observing vrat on-board. This special thali includes no garlic, on onion and is prepared with sendha namak. Ministry of Railways took to Twitter to make the announcement and wrote in Hindi, "You will get pure and sattvik food on-board". Find the tweet here:

The tweet also mentioned the passengers call to order the food by calling on the number 1323 or at ecatering.irctc.co.in. Besides, passengers can also avail of this service through the "Food on Track" mobile app. The payments can be made through online means and pay-on-delivery, as per your preference.
IRCTC further took to its blog and explained, "IRCTC eCatering ensures that you don't miss out on having your Navratri Vrat special foods onboard your train journey to your destination. With its authentic partner restaurants, you have the ease of Navratri food online now anytime and anywhere when on a train journey."
Here are a few foods IRCTC is offering in the special vrat thali:
- The appetizers/starters include sabudana tikka and aloo chaap.
- The main course includes paneer makhmali with parathas, sabudana khichdi with curd.
- The dessert includes sabudana kheer.
"IRCTC e-catering guarantees authentic and wholesome Navratri Vrat meals on wheels," the blog post added.
