Pani puri is a beloved street food in India, known by different names and variations such as gol gappe, phuchka, gupchup and more. These regional variations have often sparked debate over which part of India serves the best pani puri. However, many such enthusiasts are now in collective shock after seeing how Thailand is embracing their favourite snack.
In a video going viral on Instagram, a Thai food vendor can be seen preparing crispy pork pani puri, featuring large golgappas stuffed with pork, vegetables, lemon wedges, chillies, onions and sauces for a flavour-bomb bite.
The video was captured at the Aum Aum Summer Fest, a major food market featuring more than 140 popular restaurants. The festival was held at Mega Bangna, described as Southeast Asia's first low-rise regional shopping centre.

Indian viewers were shocked to see their beloved street snack stuffed with pork. Take a look:

Another joked, "Finally, North feels the way we feel for the Szechwan Pasta Podi Cheese Dosa."
An angry viewer said, "What the hell, justice for panipuri."

Calling out others for overreacting, one user wrote, "Guys, freaking CHILL. It's a dish inspired by and fused with Thai flavours. Like far out. People act like fusion food doesn't exist."
