Crushed biscuits with dates, eggs and butter. Chilled, cut into small slices and served with an ice-cream, chocolate strips, mint sprigs and some fresh oranges. It's a perfect treat for your kids!

Ingredients of Date Biscuit Roll

  • 125 gm butter
  • 75 gm grated jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 250 gm chopped seeded dates
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 200 gm crumbled biscuits
  • Pared rind 2 oranges
  • 50 gm melted chocolate
  • 4 scoops ice cream
  • Mint sprigs
  • Orange segments

How to Make Date Biscuit Roll

1. Melt butter in a pan.

2. Stir in sugar. Add dates. Cook for five minutes stirring continuously.

3. Remove from flame and beat in egg, followed by biscuits. Shape into a roll.

4. Wrap in foil and chill overnight. Blanch orange rind in boiling water for fifteen seconds.

5. Dry and dip in melted chocolate. Allow it to set.
6.
6. Slice date roll and serve with ice cream, chocolate strips, mint sprigs and orange segments.
