Here's a traditional Falafel recipe, deep fried chick pea balls, served with a tangy tahini paste. Perfect as a starter, main course or just an evening snack.

Ingredients of Falafel Wrap

  • 2 cups chickpeas
  • 1 cup chopped fresh coriander
  • 1 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tsp chopped green chillies or to taste
  • 1 tsp whole cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp crushed coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads

How to Make Falafel Wrap

  • 1.Soak chick peas overnight in cold water and grind it into a fine paste.
  • 2.Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  • 3.With wet hands, create small patties from the mixture.
  • 4.Deep fry till golden brown or shallow fry in little olive oil.
  • 5.Make tahini paste made with sesame seeds, water, lemon, salt and pepper.
  • 6.Place the falafel in a pita pocket along with hummus, tahini, sour cream (hung curd), lettuce and onions.
