Ingredients of Handi Komdi

  • 1 free range chicken, cut into small chunks
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chilli
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 Tbsp hara masala (2 cloves garlic, 1/2 cup coriander, 1 small knob ginger, 2 green chillies)
  • 3-4 Tbsp peanut oil
  • Water

How to Make Handi Komdi

  1. 1.Marinate the chicken pieces in salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala.
  2. 2.In a pot add peanut oil. Add the hara masala. Saute.
  3. 3.Now add the marinated chicken. Saute for 4-5 minutes.
  4. 4.Add the water (enough to cover the chicken pieces). Cover and cook for 20 minutes or till the chicken is well done and the water has reduced a little.
  5. 5.Serve with steamed rice.
