Ingredients of Konkani Style Chicken Curry

  • 500 gms Chicken Pieces (Curry Cut)
  • 2 large Onion (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 large Tomato (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 2 Bay Leaf
  • 6-7 Black Peppercorns
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 2 small Potatoes (Cubed)

How to Make Konkani Style Chicken Curry

Start by marinating the chicken. Take a bowl, add chicke pieces then add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste. Mix everything and set aside.

Meanwhile, heat oil/ghee in a kadhai, add whole spices (mentioned in the ingredients list), let them splutter.

Now add chopped onion and wait until it turns golden.

Once done, add tomatoes, mix and let them turn mushy and soft.

Take a grinder, add coconut along with water and grind until a smooth paste.

Pour this paste into the kadhai and let the mixture cook properly for about 15 mins.

After 15 mins, add chicken pieces, mix them properly with the mixture.
8.
Cover the kadhai and wait until water is slightly absorbed and chicken pieces are tender.
9.
Serve and enjoy!
