How to make olive bread
A chewy, freshly baked, savoury olive bread is perfect to start the morning. This recipe is easy to make and requires just a few ingredients.

Ingredients of Olive Bread
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Yeast
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- Herb mix (Optional)
- as required Olive oil
- Green/Black pitted olives

Chop your green/black olives and keep them aside.
In a small bowl, add the yeast and warm water to activate it, and keep aside for 10 mins.
Until then, sift together all your dry ingredients – Flour, salt, garlic powder and herb mix if you are using that.
You can simply add chilli flakes and oregano too.
Mix all the dry ingredients together then add the yeast and water solution on this. Add half cup water and knead the dough.
The dough might feel sticky but don’t stop, once everything is mixed together add the chopped olives and mix that too.
Spread a good amount of olive oil on the bowl you are using to mix the dough and drizzle some on the top as well.
Now we have to cover and let this dough rest for at least 30 mins, best if you can keep it aside for 2 hours.
After 30 mins, take it out. The dough must have doubled in size so gently poke it and let it reduce to its original size.
Knead the dough one last time for 4-5 mins and then bake it.
Preheat your oven and bake at 400 degree for 20-25 mins until the top is golden.
