Ingredients of Pav Bhaji Sandwich

  • 4 boiled potatoes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, grated
  • 1 green capsicum, finely chopped
  • 4 Green Chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp chaat masala
  • 2 tbsp pav bhaji masala
  • 4 cheese cubes
  • 1 tbsp butter, for sauteing
  • Extra butter, as required
  • 10 bread slices
  • Salt to taste
  • Sev, for garnish (optional)

How to Make Pav Bhaji Sandwich

Boil potatoes and once cooled, grate them and set aside.

In a thick-bottomed kadhai, heat 1 tbsp butter and add ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chillies and onion. Saute for 2 minutes.

Add in the chopped capsicum, grated/ pureed tomatoes, chilli powder and pav bhaji masala. Saute for a few seconds.

Next, add grated potatoes, chopped coriander and mix well. Add salt to taste.

Turn off the heat and allow the pav bhaji filling to cool slightly.

Butter slices of bread and keep ready. Spread 1 tbsp of the prepared stuffing evenly on one slice, grate cheese on top and sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala before covering it with another slice.

Grill the sandwich until golden-brown and lightly crisp. Add extra butter on top if you wish. Garnish with sev and serve.
