Ingredients of Phodnicha Bhaat

  • 2 Cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp peanuts
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 whole dried red chilli
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • ½ inch ginger, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp grated coconut (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric powder)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp oil/ ghee
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Phodnicha Bhaat

In a kadhai, heat oil, fry the peanuts, remove and keep aside.

Then add red chilli, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, green chillies and curry leaves to the oil. Saute for a minute.

Next, add the onions and mix. Once they turn translucent, add salt and turmeric.

Add the cooked rice and mix. Finally, add the coconut, lemon juice, chopped coriander and fried peanuts.
5.
Combine all the ingredients well. Serve hot.
