About Prawn Ghee Roast Recipe: While the most popular Mangalorean variation of prawn is prawn ghee roast, however, this variation of the signature dish is truly unique in its preparation. The ground masala used in this recipe is the key element to make it distinct from others ghee masala paste with a kick of chilli peppers and a tangy taste from tamarind. This is a great side dish for Neer Dosa, Appam or just with steamed rice.

Ingredients of Prawn Ghee Roast
- 1 Kg Kashmiri red chilli whole
- 100 gms garlic
- 50 gms tamarind
- 30 gms cumin seeds
- 2 kg prawns, medium
- 400 gms pure cow ghee
- to taste salt
How to Make Prawn Ghee Roast

Boil red chillies then wash it nicely, make a fine paste with all ingredients.

In a heavy bottom pan add the chilli paste and ghee, cook for some time then add the prawns. Sauté along with ghee , allow masala to mix well with the prawns and to cook until ghee get separate from masala. Add salt as required, finish with some ghee.

Serve hot with neer dosa.
