Ingredients of Street-Style Hot Chinese Bhel

  • 2 Cups boiled noodles
  • 1/2 cup (white & green) spring onion greens
  • 1 green capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup tomato, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced carrot
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp schezwan sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup (optional)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Street-Style Hot Chinese Bhel

Once cooled, deep fry the boiled noodles, drain excess oil and keep ready.

In a wok or kadhai, heat oil and saute the ginger and garlic on high flame.

Next, add the carrot, cabbage, capsicum and spring onions. Stir-fry the veggies together for 30 seconds.

Now, add the schezwan sauce, chilli sauce, soy sauce and vinegar. Add tomato sauce if you wish to reduce the spiciness. Mix well and taste to adjust the salt.

Crush the fried noodles with your hands and add them to the wok.

Now add the chopped tomato and combine the sauces, veggies and noodles. Continue mixing for around 2 minutes.
7.
Garnish with extra spring onion greens and serve hot.
