Ingredients of Whole Wheat Mutton Khichda

  • 500 gms Mutton Curry Cut Frozen
  • 50 gram Whole wheat and daliya
  • 1 cup Yogurt for marination
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 large Tomato (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Refined oil and ghee
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • Black pepper whole
  • Saunf
  • 1 tsp Jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Dhaniya powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Roasted kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp Degi mirch
  • Salt as per taste

How to Make Whole Wheat Mutton Khichda

Take Whole wheat and Daliya and soak it overnight. Take onion and tomato, chop it and keep it aside.

Take a heavy bottom pan and put refined oil and some ghee in it. Once the oil and ghee are hot enough, put all the whole spices like cloves, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, star anise, cardamom black, black pepper whole, saunf.

Then add the ginger garlic paste and chopped onion along with tomatoes and saute it properly.

Put all the wet masala like Jeera powder, dhaniya powder, turmeric powder and degi mirch. Then put soaked wheat and daliya and saute it for a few minutes.

Now take the marinated mutton and saute it properly, and add roasted kasuri methi. Keep on adding water.

Add the daliya to the pan. Cook the meat and daliya properly with garam masala. Serve it hot, garnish it with golden fried onion and some ghee.
