Ingredients of Prawn Balchao with Fenni

  • 250 gms prawns
  • 100 ml oil
  • 25 gms garlic
  • 100 gms onions
  • 5 gms turmeric
  • 2 gms curry leaves
  • to taste salt
  • 200 ml fenni
  • For the paste:
  • 10 gms cumin seeds
  • 10 gms peppercorns
  • 100 gms red chillies
  • 200 ml coconut vinegar
  • 50 gms dried shrimps, small
  • 25 gms ginger
  • 75 gms garlic

How to Make Prawn Balchao with Fenni

Chop the onions and the garlic. Grind all the ingredients for the paste with the vinegar.

Shell and clean the prawns.
3.
Heat oil and add the chopped garlic.
4.
When the garlic is golden brown add the chopped onions and saute.
5.
Add the curry leaves and the paste and mix thoroughly and saute for 10 minutes.
6.
Keep adding coconut vinegar if the mixture becomes dry.
7.
Mix in the prawns and cook for another 15 minutes.
8.
Finish by pouring in the Fenni.
