Hard Rock Cafe is ready with a new menu that features authentic Indian curries as well as innovative fusion delights, tempting desserts and American staples. The All American spread has gone under a lot of re-invention at Hard Rock Cafe. The master chefs put their heads together to come up with amazing American-Indian fusion dishes, the most popular being the Saag Paneer. It's not the usual serving of smooth green gravy with cubes of cottage cheese; instead it was a sizzler that was brought to our table when we ordered the dish. Strips of spinach with chunks of cottage cheese sauteed with a unique blend of dry spice, served with pita bread is HRC's take on the concept of Saag Paneer.Next up, we explored some authentic Indian curries. The Kerala Curry and Paneer Makhanwala were served with rice and a bowl of salad. With an authentic smooth coconut flavor dominating the gravy and tasty boneless pieces of fish, the Kerala Curry is a must try.The spicy twist to the traditional Paneer Makhanwala was also welcome. The Tandoori Spiced Chicken Burger was lip-smacking and got juicier with every bite. The Chicken Pakodas were served with a tangy sweet and sour dip that kept us binging.
"We have a large customer base of foreign nationals that walk in every day. We want to give them something Indian that they can try for a change," said Chef Ammey Marathe, executive chef, Hard Rock Cafe
"Since our kitchen is designed to cater to the preparation of American food and cooking techniques, it was not possible to get roti and tandoors on the menu, thus, we came up with serving some all-time-favorite Indian curries with rice and making suitable innovations with Indian combination, like Saag Paneer," he adds.Along with the desi eats, there are quite a few all-American newbies on the menu. The Caribbean Burger made with sweet potato patty and pork ribs are rapidly becoming the new favorites in the house. The Tres Leche, a traditional Mexican soft-as-sponge cake oozing with evaporated condensed milk and mojito yogurt, topped with fresh seasonal berries, chopped kiwis and other exotic fruits gets a big thumbs-up from us.Other additions to the array of delicious desserts include White Chocolate and Banana Pudding with whiskey caramel glaze, traditional Cheese Cake in a walnut-biscuit crust with a honey-sour cream topping and more. At: Hard Rock Cafe, 81/82 East Main Road, Koregaon Park Extension.
