Food safety inspection uncovered 40 kg of rotten tomatoes and unsafe cooking oil at McDonald's Gaurav Tower outlet in Jaipur.

The task force noted hygiene problems and lack of records among other issues at these establishments. They also found them to be exposed to the outside environment.

Food safety officials inspected a popular barbecue restaurant chain in Telangana earlier this month. They recently inspected several branded pizza outlets, too.

Food safety officials said the inspection revealed serious sanitation and compliance lapses at the warehouse, prompting sample testing and regulatory scrutiny.

Food safety teams inspected 95 sweet manufacturing units/retailers across the state and flagged various violations. They have also issued guidelines for consumers.

Multiple unsafe food items were seized during the recent dairy and restaurant inspections by the task force in the Rangareddy district and Kompally area, Hyderabad.

The food safety officials noted some of the food safety regulations being followed on the premises as well as those that were not.

The teams observed the sale of non-branded and loose milk and ghee in several areas.

Food Safety Officer, Tarun Negi said, "We are carrying surveillance drive-by checking different samples of sweets from different shops."

The seized stock, valued at approximately Rs 2.25 lakh, was subsequently destroyed.
