While we are self-quarantining ourselves at our homes to evade Coronavirus, our whole routine has turned on its side. The lockdown is brewing stress, anxiousness and boredom, making people turn to food for some relief. Comfort foods, snacks, desserts, junk food may help in taking the edge off, but too much of it may not be good for health, especially for your weight. Statistics suggest soaring sales of unhealthy snack items during the period of lockdown. People are gaining weight due to lack of physical activities, overeating, and lazying around all day.
Almost all of us are bound to come out unfit with excessive weight post 2020 quarantine. Registered dietician Ashley Koff says, "My clients are calling it the Covid 20, in reference to the fear of gaining that much unwanted weight before all this is over."

If you want to avoid weight gain, here are some tips that may help you manage overeating during lockdown:
1. Visit grocery stores when you've just had a meal and are stated. In your state of hunger, you are bound to buy more junk food products and unhealthy snacks than you intended to. Also, keep healthy drinks and foods as a priority for grocery shopping and stick to the resolve.
2. Los Angeles naturopathic doctor Stephanie Berg recommends having beans for breakfast. This nutrient-rich food tends to have a 'second meal effect' that keeps us sated for a long time.
3. Make a 'quarantine meal schedule' of the times you should be ideally eating in a day. However, leave room for some flexibility as a too-strict schedule is difficult to follow and you may end up quitting.
Revisit your daily schedule, make some amends and stay determined, you'll be able to avoid that dreadful weight gain.
