By now we are more or less aware that a small packet of chips is actually more harmful for you than a home-made aloo paratha. Yet, when it comes to a quick snack, we always tend to lean towards store-bought chips, namkeens and what not. We agree that when cravings kick in, you are in no mood to cook a 5-course fare. All you want is something quick and intensely satiating, and if you have also resolved to cut down on outside food like us, we have something that will definitely impress you.

This crispy snack by food vlogger Parul is ideal for those odd-time cravings. Combining all our favourite ingredients like potatoes, cheese, garlic and herbs, this quick snack recipe posted on the YouTube Channel 'Cook With Parul' makes for an excellent chai-time snack too. If you have any gathering planned, these potato buttons could definitely be a value addition.

The snack essentially has two components, the crispy coating and a soft, cheesy filling. For the former, you need to combine mashed boil potatoes, to which you need to add black pepper powder, red chilli flakes, salt, mixed herbs, oil, maida, baking powder(optional). Mix everything and make a soft dough. Roll it out, cut out circular or oval units. For the filling or stuffing, take some butter, mozzarella cheese or cheese slices, chopped garlic, chopped capsicum, corn(optional), red chilli flakes, coriander leaves. Mix everything well. Now with the help of spoon, stuff the aloo dough with mixture, shape them into cute buttons. Fry until crisp, and you are done.
