A recent breakthrough in the world of science and technology had led to the creation of an electronic device that can tell you about the freshness of food. The device called Peres, is shaped like a nose and will be able to detect whether a product, primarily beef, pork, poultry or fish, is fresh or if it carries a risk of food poisoning. The device has four sensors which can detect over 100 different volatile organic compounds in food, and many of these are strong indicators of whether or not the food is safe to consume. These sensors can measure and monitor the temperature, humidity, ammonia and volatile organic compounds in and around the food and this information is then sent to the user's smartphone via Bluetooth. Once it has the data, the app installed on the smartphone will display recommendations based on the freshness of the food.As reported by 'Gizmag'
