How much have we missed road trips in all these months of lockdown, with the country finally in its fourth stage of 'unlock', many people have finally started hitting the roads and dining at their favourite dhabas. If you are still one of those who want to practice caution and stay indoors but are equally missing the dhaba-style magic, then worry not. We have found this stellar dhaba-style paneer masala recipe by food vlogger and YouTuber Parul.
For this spicy and scintillating recipe posted on the YouTube channel, 'Cook With Parul', you would need some marinated paneer cubes, which will ensure your paneer is not bland in the middle of a very flavourful gravy. The chilli paneer cubes also need to be roasted in ghee for the authentic taste.
To make the gravy, you would need to heat some oil, ghee, cumin, bay leaf, cinnamon, crushed cardamoms, cloves, black pepper, coriander and red chilli. Roast them on low flame until they are fragrant. Next, you can add some chopped onions, ginger, garlic. Stir until onions are brown. Then add chopped green chillies, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and besan (to thicken the gravy). Make sure you keep the flame low so that the spices and besan do not get burnt. To this scrumptious masala, you have to add some grated tomatoes, some salt and mix on low-medium flame until tomatoes are cooked. Close with lid. Add some fresh dahi or curd for the lovely texture and thickness, then finally throw in the paneer cubes and you are done.
Pair this with rice or roti of your choice. Here is the step-by-step recipe.
