Indian cuisine is becoming popular over the world. We often see our favourite celebrities trying out different dishes not just at restaurants, but also in the comfort of their own homes! From Mindy Kaling to Padma Lakshmi, we spot some of our favourite Hollywood divas cooking up delicious Indian food in their kitchens. And now, even foreign food bloggers aren't far behind. Recently, a popular American blogger named My Nguyen created a delicious recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala in her kitchen. It was a hit with her followers as well as foodies from India too. Take a look at the video she shared:
The video was shared on the official handle of the American blogger, known as @myhealthydish. In the caption, she revealed why she preferred to make Chicken Tikka Masala instead of the more popular Butter Chicken. "Save my recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala! I actually prefer this over Butter Chicken because it's slightly healthier even though the ingredients are very similar," she wrote.
In the clip, the American blogger showed how she made delicious chicken tikka masala with some simple substitutes. She used canned tomatoes in the gravy rather than freshly brought ones. Further, she advised that fenugreek could be hard to source so it could also be skipped in the recipe. Rather than adding too much cream and butter, Nguyen simply used some soaked cashews to get the same creamy texture. Thus, the dish became healthier than the butter chicken recipe which uses oodles of cream and butter in it.
The video of the American blogger making chicken tikka masala went viral on Instagram Reels. It has already garnered over 5.5 million views and 200k likes. A number of users showered praise on Nguyen for trying to make an amazing recipe from Indian cuisine. "Damn. That looks amazing," wrote one user while another said, "Were you in my search history today? I want to make naan now!" Some Indian users living abroad also suggested, "Lots of fenugreek is available at Indian grocery stores, it is also known as "kasoori methi"."
