The internet could be a fascinating place if you dig new styles of presentation and making your dishes look appealing and appetising. Food trends come and go, but only a few manage to leave an impression. The latest drip cake trend appears like one of the trends that are here to stay. Why you ask, because they are one of the prettiest things to have raided our feeds recently, and it looks fairly simple to execute. Trust us, even the most amateur bakers could pull this off.
Drip cakes are essentially a cake decorating style, wherein a thin layer of either chocolate or cream or even ganache is poured over on the cake and allowed to drip from the edges. People are getting rather creative with the 'drips', from gold drips to rainbow drips we have seen them all in the past couple of days.
There are two ways to add drips to the cake. You can either use a spoon or a plastic squeeze bottle that come with pointy nozzles. The latter is found to have neater results, all you need to do is fill up the bottle with the ganache and press it along the rim of the cake and watch it drip. You can do the same with a spoon. Simply take a spoon with the ganache and pour it over the edge of the cake, but here you have to be very careful of the amount of ganache you take in the spoon.
Here are some of the prettiest drip cakes that have stunned us off late.
