Be it in winter on top of a hot chocolate or on a camping trip, melted marshmallows can uplift our mood at any time of the day. This sweet confectionery has a space in children's hearts and it won't be wrong to say that it has even managed to impress the adults. But today we have brought forth a marshmallow that will give you a pretty hard time if you wish to toast it on a campfire or melt in your cup of hot chocolate. That's because a popular confectionery company Dulces Mazapan de la Rosa has etched its name in the Guinness Book of World Records after it created a gigantic marshmallow. According to the Guinness World Record, with this feat, the company has been crowned for making the largest marshmallow in the world. Wondering how big is this marshmallow? Well, even the Steinway D274 grand piano, which weighs 480 kg (1,058 lb) is lighter in front of this marshmallow that weighed 648 kg.
Unveiling the largest marshmallow, the official Instagram page of Guinness World Record shared a clip with the caption, “Largest marshmallow 648.40 kg (1,429 lb 8oz) by Dulces de la Rosa S.A. de C.V.”

The report revealed that a team of 100 people took a total of 53 hours to prepare this marshmallow. The sweet aerated candy was brought in front of the world's eye at a special event that took place for the 200th-anniversary celebrations in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The feat was verified publically at Guadalajara's Plaza Fundadores, wherein a temporary industrial plant was installed. Soon after the record was verified by the adjudicator of Guinness World Records Carlos Tapia, who took two days to confirm the feat, the historic marshmallows were distributed among the public.
In case you don't know, this isn't the first time that such a record has been created. Previously the feat of the world's largest marshmallow was achieved by an independent school in the United Kingdom—Berkhamsted School. The school staff were declared the record holders after they prepared a 93.1 kg marshmallow in October 2019. However, in 2018 Dulces Mazapan de la Rosa received the title for preparing the largest peanut mazapán candy in Guadalajara.
