We all have heard about restaurants, hotels and cloud kitchens getting ratings on the basis of their food quality, hygiene, décor and various other parameters. But have you ever heard about jails getting rated on the basis of their food quality? Yes, you read that right. Recently, a jail in Uttar Pradesh received a 5-star rating for providing excellent food quality to the inmates. According to a report in ANI, the Bulandshahr prison of Uttar Pradesh was awarded a 5-star rating and the tag 'Eat Right Campus' by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI).
According to an official release, a team of inspectors from FSSAI surveyed the kitchen, storage, hygiene level and of course, the food quality. The inspection was done with stringent measures. The place got a clearance on each of these factors and was then given the rating and the tag, in addition to the remark of 'Excellent' by FSSAI.
