Ingredients of Channa Pindi

  • 250 gms chickpeas
  • 5 Tea bags
  • 75 ml oil
  • 3 gram cardamom
  • 100 gms onions
  • 50 gms ginger garlic paste
  • 100 gms tomatoes
  • 20 gms crushed cumin powder
  • 20 gms coriander powder
  • 15 gms chilli powder
  • 50 gms channa masala
  • 5 gram garam masala
  • 10 gms coriander leaves
  • 10 ml lemon juice
  • 10 gms chaat masala
  • Salt

How to Make Channa Pindi

  • 1.Soak the chickpeas overnight and boil them with the tea bags.
  • 2.Chop the onions and the coriander leaves. Puree the tomatoes.
  • 3.Heat oil, add cardamoms, mix in the onions and saute until golden.
  • 4.Add ginger and garlic. Saute for about 2 minutes.
  • 5.Mix in the tomatoes and continuing sauteing.
  • 6.Add all the powders and the salt. Cook the mixture for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 7.Add the chickpeas and boil, mashing a few grains with the spoon.
  • 8.Mix in the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 9.Serve garnished with coriander leaves, green chillies and tomatoes.
