Well marinated prawns are coated in a creamy batter and baked crisp. Served with sweet and tangy tomato chutney.

Ingredients of Crisp Coated Prawns

  • 2 dozen large prawns - shelled and de-veined
  • For the marinade:
  • 100 gm yogurt
  • 100 gm hung curd
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp ginger paste
  • 3 Tbsp spring onion paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 Tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1 Tbsp chopped mint
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the batter:
  • 2 Tbsp cream
  • 100 ml yogurt
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • For the tomato chutney:
  • 4 tomatoes- peeled, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger juice
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 Tbsp grated jaggery
  • 1 Tbsp chopped coriander

How to Make Crisp Coated Prawns

1. Combine all the marinade ingredients use to coat prawns. Set aside for 2-3 hours.

2. Mix batter ingredients together and coat marinated prawns.

3. Grill while basting with oil till tender. Serve with chutney.
