An easy, quick and delicious recipe of potatoes simmered in curd, Dahi Aloo is a gravy side dish that goes well with steamed rice or just chapatis. It also goes well with jeera rice or matar pulao.

Ingredients of Dahi Aloo

  • 1/4 Cup Ghee
  • 1 Cup Cumin Seeds
  • 1/8 tsp Asafoetida Water
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 2 Nos Tomato, pureed
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 3-4 Potatoes (Boiled)
  • 1 Green Chilli, chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Curd
  • 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves

How to Make Dahi Aloo

  • 1.Take Ghee in a pan.Dahi Aloo
  • 2.Add cumin seeds and asafoetida water to the pan.Dahi Aloo
  • 3.Saute them and add ginger.Dahi Aloo
  • 4.Mix the ginger along and add pureed tomatoDahi Aloo
  • 5.Mix well and add garam masala, coriander powder, salt, turmeric powder and red chillli powder.Dahi Aloo
  • 6.Mix the spices thoroughly.Dahi Aloo
  • 7.Add boiled potatoes and green chilli to the gravy.Dahi Aloo
  • 8.Mix all of it together.Dahi Aloo
  • 9.Now add water and mix well.Dahi Aloo
  • 10.Add curd to the cooked potato gravy.Dahi Aloo
  • 11.Mix thoroughly till the gravy turns brownish-yellow in colour.Dahi Aloo
  • 12.Add coriander leaves and mix well.Dahi Aloo
  • 13.Serve hot.Dahi Aloo
