Ingredients of Karivepille Yera (Curry Leaves Flavored Prawns)
- For marination:
- 20 prawns
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt according to taste
- 1 tsp refined flour
- Juice of 1 lemon
- For the curry leaves powder:
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 cup curry leaves
- 3 whole red chillies
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp methi seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal(black gram)
- 1 tsp chana dal
- Lemon juice
- Oil

1. Clean and then marinate the prawns in turmeric powder, ginger-garlic
paste, red chilli powder, salt, refined flour and the lemon juice and
leave for 4 hours.

3. Fry the curry leaves, whole red chillies, coriander, peppercorns, cumin seeds, methi, urad daal, chana daal.

4. Then grind them all together and the powder is ready.

6. Deep fry the prawns for approximately a minute.

7. Take the prawns out and
coat them with the curry leave powder, add the lemon juice and serve
hot.
