Ingredients of Khatti Meethi Dal

  • 1 Cup Yellow lentils
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 2 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • 20 Gram Tamarind pulp
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped

How to Make Khatti Meethi Dal

  • 1.Cook the dal along with turmeric, salt and sugar to a thin, smooth, pouring consistency.
  • 2.Add chilli powder, pav bhaji masala, tamarind pulp and simmer, till well blended.
  • For the Tadka:
  • 1.Heat the oil, add the mustard seeds and the curry leaves.
  • 2.When the seeds begin to splutter, add the dal mixture and bring to a boil, then simmer for about a minute.
  • 3.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
