Green peas cooked with khoya, tomatoes and spices. A delicately creamy side dish.

Ingredients of Khoya Matar

  • 250 gm khoya-crumbled
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 cup tomato-freshly pureed
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup green peas-shelled
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Coriander for garnish
  • Water

How to Make Khoya Matar

  • 1.Heat ghee and add the cumin seeds.
  • 2.When seeds splutter, add the tomato and ginger and saute till fat separates.
  • 3.Add the peas and saute till well mixed.
  • 4.Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric, and cook till tender. Add khoya.
  • 5.Add some water to cook. Let it simmer till well mixed.
  • 6.Serve garnished with the garam masala and the coriander.
