How to make Murmurre Appe
Traditionally made with rice batter, this instant recipe substitutes rice with murmure (puffed rice). The consistency of the batter is made perfect by mixing suji and blended murmure together.

Ingredients of Murmurre Appe
- 2 Cup Murmure (Puffed rice)
- 1 cup Sooji
- 1/2 cup Curd
- 1/2 cup Chopped onions
- 1/4 cup Chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp Chopped green chillies
- Chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Soda
- Salt according to taste

In a bowl wash and soak puffed rice for 5 minutes. In another bowl mix water ad sooji and let it sit for the same time.
In a blender add soaked murmure, sooji, curd and blend into a smooth paste.
In a bowl take out the batter and add onions, tomatoes, green chilli, and dry masala and mix well.
Once everything has been mixed well, add soda and a tsp of lime juice and quickly stir everything together.
In an appe pan, heat oil and sprinkle mustard seeds on top. Pour the appe batter into all the mould.
Once all the moulds are filled, cover and cook for 2 minutes.
Flip and cover and cook the other sides for 2 minutes too.
Take off the heat and serve warm.
